Acoforag stated that the government's response to the victims has not been the same as seen after the attack on the Rucalhue power plant works in the commune of Santa Bárbara in the Biobío Region. This comes after it was revealed that 15 people lost their jobs following an arson attack on a forestry operation in the commune of Los Sauces in the Araucanía Region, which left five pickup trucks and three machines destroyed.

Surprisingly, three individuals carrying shotguns arrived in a pickup truck at the forestry operation in Napañir, Los Sauces commune, intimidating workers from the company CIMA, forcing them into a dining hall, stealing their cell phones, and then setting fire to five pickup trucks and three machines used in the forestry operations of the CMPC group. They fled afterward, leaving graffiti demanding the release of Mapuche prisoners in Angol and Temuco.

"The attack in the commune of Los Sauces, I believe, deserves the same treatment that the government, particularly the Minister of Public Security, Luis Cordero, gave to what happened in Rucalhue at the hydroelectric plant owned by the Chinese group. Therefore, we believe the Secretary of State, in this case, the minister, must come to the area because this problem needs to be solved," said René Muñoz, manager of Acoforag.

A view also shared by the president of Corma through the union's president for Araucanía and Lagos, Antonio Soto, who stated that the absence of authorities would further legitimize the violent acts occurring in Araucanía. "This gives a bit more ground to what is happening in Araucanía because it was a large-scale attack."

The deputy for the area and regional president of Renovación Nacional in La Araucanía, Deputy Jorge Rathgeb, called for the immediate presence of national government authorities in the region. "President Boric, Minister Elizalde, Minister Cordero, Minister Del Piano, it is time for you to visit the area and, on the other hand, take additional measures to reinforce existing ones."

Following the incident, which is under investigation by Carabineros, and in response to media inquiries, the interim regional ministerial secretary of Public Security in Araucanía, Verónica López Fidela, only confirmed the attack based on the reports provided by Carabineros.
