Three Arrested for Wood Theft and Assault on Police Officers in Portezuelo

Carabineros from OS9 Ñuble arrested a suspect caught stealing wood from a forestry property in the Chudal area of Portezuelo, along with two other individuals who attempted to prevent the suspect's arrest.
The specialized Carabineros team was conducting investigative procedures in a nearby area when they were alerted about a truck inside a private forestry property in Chudal, where an individual was allegedly stealing wood.
"With timely information, the team, which was carrying out specialized procedures in a nearby area, managed to intercept the truck and inspect the driver to arrest him. At that moment, the suspect's relatives arrived with the intention of preventing the action, assaulting the officers and issuing threats, leading to all three being detained," explained Subprefect of Services, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Beltrán.
As a result, the truck driver was arrested for the crime of wood theft, and two others were detained for injuries and death threats against on-duty Carabineros.
The truck was seized during the operation, and the wood load was returned to the owner.
The officers sustained various minor injuries.
