Skidder 768L-II 6x6: Power, Agility, and Forestry Technology

The new six-wheel Skidder 6x6 model 768L-II delivers outstanding traction, stability, and flotation, enabling it to work in wet environments and on steep slopes.

It stands out for its rugged construction, engine speed, and excellent multifunctional performance. This Skidder 768L-II was also built on the foundation of the well-known 848L model, which boasts great reliability and safety in forestry operations in Chile and worldwide, commented Fernando Ortiz, Forestry Machinery Assistant Manager at Salfa.

He detailed that it features an appropriate wheelbase for the application and a wide grapple work area of 1.77 m2, specially selected to work with both radiata pine and the various types of eucalyptus found in Chile. Combined with a tight turning radius, John Deere's 6x6 Skidder offers extensive reach and load capacity, along with impressive agility and skill on medium to high-slope terrains.

"The JDlink telemetry system included in the equipment lays the foundation for John Deere's precision solutions center. These systems optimize the machine, its uptime, and worksites, ultimately leading to greater production efficiency. Our goal is to make the machines communicate with each other, sharing data on the volume and quantity of logs moved during the workday, so that the other John Deere machines involved in the process have real-time information to optimize their operation and productivity," explained Ortiz.
