Technology-Driven Solutions by Ponsse Chile
Ponsse Chile provides high-performance forestry equipment designed to operate on slopes of up to 70%, integrating advanced technology and energy efficiency. Their machines feature Mercedes Benz engines ranging from 250 to 350 HP, achieving fuel savings of up to 20% compared to traditional equipment, significantly reducing operational costs.
Sebastián Larenas, Country Manager of Ponsse Chile, stated that among their key innovations is the Synchrowinch system, developed in collaboration with Herzog Forsttechnik AG. This synchronized winch enables self-assisted traction without the need for additional operators or extra machinery. It integrates directly with the machine's hydraulic and transmission systems, providing assistance capacity of up to 7 tons for harvesters and 10 tons for forwarders, enhancing safety and efficiency on steep terrain.
Regarding operational management, Larenas mentioned that the Ponsse Manager software enables real-time monitoring, delivering key data to optimize the performance of each machine and customizing views based on user needs.
Additionally, Ponsse equipment cabins not only offer operator comfort but are also designed with advanced technology to ensure safety in extreme conditions. These cabins comply with international certifications such as ROPS ISO 8.021, FOPS ISO 8.083, and OPS ISO 8.084, ensuring operator protection in cases of rollovers, impacts, and other hazards. Furthermore, harvesters meet the ISO 21.876 standard against chain shots, underscoring their commitment to safety.
