Third Company of Río Claro Receives Modern Vehicle for Forest Emergencies
The Third Fire Company of Río Claro, in the commune of Yumbel, has incorporated a new emergency vehicle that will strengthen its response capacity to forest fires and other emergencies. The vehicle was officially delivered during a ceremony held last Saturday, attended by local authorities, representatives of the firefighting corps, and the community.
This new vehicle, specifically designed for fighting forest fires, represents a significant advancement in the safety and protection of Río Claro and its surroundings.
The municipal office clarified that "this important achievement was made possible thanks to funding from the Regional Government, managed by the company's director, Daniela Burgos Vivero, together with the Municipal Secplan team."
The mayor of Yumbel, José Sáez, stated, "We are proud of this great progress for our community. This vehicle represents more than just a technical resource—it reflects the commitment and joint effort with firefighters. We will continue working for the well-being and safety of all Río Claro residents."
The new vehicle, named "Carlos Abraham Yáñez," will enhance emergency response capabilities, especially for Río Claro and its surrounding areas.
The ceremony for the reception of the new fire truck for the Third Company of Río Claro was also attended by Bryan Smith, representing the regional governor, Sergio Giacaman; Deputy Flor Weisse; regional councilors of the Biobío province, Enrique Krause and Roberts Córdova; and councilors Jaime Gacitúa and Carlos Pinilla. Meanwhile, Óscar Andrade attended on behalf of Deputy Clara Sagardía.
Representing the Firefighters, directors and volunteers from the second and fourth companies of Yumbel attended, along with a unit from the neighboring commune of San Rosendo.
