The Regional Productive Development Committee approved the Integrated Territorial Program (PTI) for Industrialized Housing Construction. With a budget of $139 million for its first year, it aims to transform the housing industry by adopting modern construction methods, promoting sustainability, efficiency, and reducing time and costs.

The program will work with two key links in the value chain: the design and planning of construction projects, as well as on-site construction and assembly.

Sector competitiveness

"Through the adoption of innovative and sustainable technologies, we aim to move toward more efficient construction, which not only benefits our families with higher-quality housing but also boosts the competitiveness of our industry," emphasized Governor Óscar Crisóstomo.

The program seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of the construction industry in Ñuble through three focus areas: training specialized human capital in modern construction methods; promoting new construction technologies that enhance process efficiency; and fostering strategic alliances between the public, private, and academic sectors to increase productivity and drive innovation.

Macarena Dávila, director of Corfo Ñuble, stressed that "this program not only seeks to introduce new technologies but also to strengthen the capabilities of local businesses. Through our work plan, we will provide specialized training so that professionals in the sector acquire the necessary tools to adopt these innovative methods, improve their process efficiency, and stay at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry."

The initiative, which will run for three years, will include technical workshops and outreach events to foster collaboration between the public, private, and academic sectors, promoting knowledge and experience sharing. Highlighted activities include workshops on construction regulations, project financing, and proposal development, as well as seminars and innovation fairs.

"The construction sector is one of the key pillars of our local economy, generating employment and energizing various associated industries. Adopting more efficient and responsible technologies will allow our businesses to position themselves as leaders in an increasingly demanding market, contributing to economic development and creating a more resilient environment," stated Erick Solo de Zaldívar, Ñuble's Regional Minister of Economy.

Meanwhile, Sebastián Godoy, president of the Chilean Chamber of Construction Ñuble, expressed that "with nearly a thousand homes in progress, Ñuble is positioning itself as a national leader in this area. Industrialization not only improves efficiency and speeds up construction times but also ensures higher quality, durability, and reduced environmental impact."

The PTI for Industrialized Housing Construction is part of a strategic initiative by Corfo Ñuble to strengthen collaboration and the construction industry's value chain.
