Carabineros arrested four people for the crime of wood theft in Ercilla

Personnel from the 6th Carabineros Station of Ercilla arrested four individuals as alleged perpetrators of the crime of wood theft from a forestry property. The three men and one woman were apprehended on Route R-525, which connects the town of Pailahueque with rural areas of the aforementioned municipality.
The individuals were caught stealing wood from a forestry facility owned by the company CMPC.
According to information confirmed by Carabineros, police officers inspected a pickup truck driven by a woman, which was transporting two meters of wood without the required documentation, leading to her arrest.
Subsequently, a second patrol of officers caught three people stealing wood using two pickup trucks, resulting in their apprehension as well.
Through both operations, Carabineros managed to seize the three pickup trucks, chainsaws, axes, and other tools used to commit the crime.
The four suspects were placed at the disposal of the Collipulli Guarantee Court during this Wednesday's session for their respective detention hearing.
