Arson attack halts construction work in Nueva Imperial: three machines affected

In a concerning incident that adds to the wave of violence in the La Araucanía region, three machines belonging to the construction company LRA were targeted in an arson attack in the La Junta sector, near the commune of Nueva Imperial.
The incident, which left no injuries, occurred two kilometers away from the town and resulted in the total destruction of one excavator and partial damage to two other machines.
Carabineros (Chilean police) and firefighters are already at the scene, working on the relevant investigations and firefighting efforts. So far, no messages or symbols have been found that could attribute the attack to a specific group.
This attack follows one recorded last Friday, where five trucks were attacked on the R-35 route near Collipulli, also in La Araucanía. In that incident, three armed individuals intercepted and assaulted the drivers before setting the vehicles on fire. The situation in the region remains tense, and authorities are on alert for possible new attacks.
