In the greenest corners of southern Chile, where the native forest still preserves its wild soul, a story of quiet labor, respect for the land, and love for natural life flourishes. It is the story of the Quilodrán-Vidal family: Patricio, Verónica, and René—three generations united by beekeeping and a deep connection to their surroundings.

More than a trade, beekeeping has been a way of life for them. René Quilodrán was the first to approach bees, guided by intuition and the knowledge that comes from hands-on experience in the field. His son Patricio grew up observing that special bond between humans and the forest, learning from an early age that working with nature demands patience, humility, and responsibility. Today, alongside his wife Verónica Vidal, they continue this family legacy with dedication and respect.

In every hive they tend, there is a lesson in balance. The honey they harvest not only reflects the flavor of the forest but also its biodiversity. The work of their bees, essential for pollination, quietly contributes to the regeneration of ecosystems.

From the Asociación de Contratistas Forestales (Acoforag), we want to highlight stories like this family’s, which remind us that it is possible to coexist with the forest sustainably. That we can produce without destroying, learn without imposing, and build a future from the wisdom that springs from the land.

The Quilodrán-Vidal family does not just take from the forest—they live with it, listen to it, and care for it. Their experience is a testament to a forestry culture nourished by knowledge, effort, and love for the land. A culture that inspires.
