PDI arrested three people for wood theft, damages, and assault on authority

Detectives from the Wood Theft Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Brigade (Bicrim) of the PDI Valdivia arrested three individuals for the crimes of wood theft, damages, and assault on authority. They were caught stealing wood from two properties on the northern exit of Valdivia and also attempted to run over two police officers.
Commissioner Juan Pablo Camaño of Bicrim Valdivia detailed that "as part of the investigative work carried out by personnel from this unit in coordination with the Public Ministry, the location of a group of individuals was achieved. They were mobilizing in two pickup trucks, forcibly entering a property owned by the Austral University of Chile and another property of Forestal Arauco, cutting down trees in various locations. Upon noticing the presence of the PDI, they fled, attempting to run over two officers, and were arrested after a controlled pursuit—two of them at the northern exit, Chancoyán area, and one in the Quitacalzón area."
Regarding the seized items, these include two pickup trucks, a chainsaw, 6 cubic meters of aromo wood, and 30 felled trees of the same species, all valued at approximately 11 million pesos.
The three detainees are men of Chilean nationality and will be placed at the disposal of the justice system.
