Two vehicles and a warehouse burned in armed attack in Ercilla: multiple gunshots heard
An arson attack was recorded in the early hours of this Saturday inside a property located 15 kilometers west of Ercilla, on a secondary route in the Araucanía region.
Unknown individuals allegedly fired shots near a private residence and then set fire to a warehouse containing wood and two vehicles.
The incident was reported around 4:30 in the morning via a radio call to the Malleco communications center, which activated a joint police operation involving personnel from the Sixth Police Station of Ercilla and public order control assets.
At the scene, they interviewed an adult woman, a victim of the attack, who stated she heard multiple gunshots at close range to her home before the vehicles were set on fire.
Procedures for armed attack in Ercilla
The details were confirmed by Captain Pablo Aguayo, night operations chief of the Malleco prefecture, who stated that a procedure is being initiated for "unjustified shootings and, likewise, two vehicles on fire."
The preliminary proceedings prosecution instructed the attendance of specialized personnel from the OS9 and Carabineros' Labocar to conduct the corresponding forensic investigations. Additionally, protection measures were arranged for the affected individuals.
So far, no injured or detained persons have been reported, nor were any banners or signs found at the scene.
