The 15th version of the Congress of the Future 2026 invites us to look at tomorrow with enthusiasm and conviction. Seeing the University of Chile present cutting-edge innovations like the "fAIrefighter" project—an artificial intelligence system for fire detection—not only fills us with national pride but confirms that we are at the exact moment to make a qualitative leap. For forestry SMEs, this context represents the great opportunity to level the playing field and enhance our ability to compete at the highest level.

Although our sector has already taken valuable steps in digitalization, today we have the possibility to carry out a technological upgrade that transforms our operations. In the forestry business, where operating margins are traditionally narrow and impeccable capital management is required, technology emerges as our best ally to protect and multiply profitability. Far from being a burden, digital efficiency is the tool that will allow us to thrive in a dynamic market.

Modernization is the bridge that connects us to global success. By strengthening our data systems, we not only optimize every resource and inventory but also open the doors to carbon credit markets and excellence value chains. It is an invitation to play in the big leagues, ensuring the traceability that today's world rewards and demands.

We know the path of innovation has its challenges, but today we have smart strategies to overcome them. Investment in tools like LiDAR can be precise and strategic, guaranteeing a quick return to the heart of the business. At the same time, training our teams is not just about closing a gap; it is about empowering our people to lead this transformation. Even in the face of rural connectivity challenges, current technology offers us agile solutions designed to work in any corner of our geography.

Our bet as SMEs is intelligent technological absorption. Through models like Software as a Service (SaaS) and local data processing, we can be as agile and efficient as the largest players, without compromising our financial structure. Furthermore, the support of public funds like Corfo and Sercotec acts as an additional engine to drive our pilots and projects.

By the end of this 2026, data-driven management will be the engine of our industry. By integrating digital processes, SMEs are not only ensuring our sustainability; we are claiming our place as protagonists of a modern, efficient, and deeply competitive forestry sector. The future is digital and, above all, a great opportunity for all of us.
