The Futaleufú Fire Department, with the collaboration of the communities of Chaitén and Villa Santa Lucía, has made a significant donation of supplies to the Trevelin Volunteer Firefighters in Argentina, who are facing a challenging forest fire in Los Alerces National Park.

The delivery of aid, which includes water and cereal bars, is a clear example of the solidarity and cooperation that exists between the peoples of Chile and Argentina, especially in times of emergency.

The Chilean delegation, led by Gloria Albornoz, superintendent of the Futaleufú Fire Department, and Miguel Vázquez, director of the Company, traveled the 45 kilometers separating Futaleufú from Trevelin, overcoming customs barriers thanks to prior coordination between the authorities of both countries.

This gesture not only reinforces the historical ties between the neighboring nations but also demonstrates the importance of international collaboration in the fight against natural disasters.

The support initiative originated from the First Fire Company of Futaleufú, which invited the local community and organizations to join the cause. The response was immediate and generous, reflecting the spirit of mutual aid that characterizes these regions. Although no additional personnel have been required to reinforce firefighting efforts, Superintendent Albornoz emphasized that any such deployment must follow specific protocols.

The Trevelin Volunteer Firefighters have expressed their deep gratitude for the donation received, which arrives at a critical time and will be very useful to sustain the efforts of the teams working tirelessly to control the fire. This act of cross-border solidarity not only provides essential material resources but also strengthens the morale and spirit of the firefighters on the ground.

The cooperation between the fire departments of Chile and Argentina is an inspiring example of how, in emergency situations, borders fade and the common will to assist those facing adversity prevails. The international community can look to these acts of brotherhood as a model to follow in building a more united and supportive world.
