Copec took a significant step in its commitment to sustainability and innovation by inaugurating the first fuel station built entirely from wood in Chile. Located in the commune of Peñalolén, this station not only celebrates the company's 90th anniversary but also represents the Copec service station No. 700 and the Pronto store No. 500.

This pioneering project in the country merges advanced architectural design with responsible environmental practices, offering a complete and modern service experience.

Arturo Natho, general manager of Copec, highlighted the importance of this achievement: "This station is a concrete example of how we can integrate innovation, sustainability, and a better experience for people into the infrastructure that Chile uses every day." The station, which follows the innovation line of the electric charging station in Vitacura, also built from wood, reflects Copec's commitment to communities and Chile's sustainable development.

The station's construction used laminated wood and cross-laminated timber (CLT) from Arauco, which allowed for a significant reduction in the project's carbon footprint. In total, 97 m³ of structural wood was used, achieving a positive environmental balance equivalent to 110 tons of CO₂, comparable to removing 24 vehicles from circulation for a year. Furthermore, the wood acts as a natural carbon sink, keeping 298 tons of carbon sequestered during the building's lifespan.

Danilo Núñez Izquierdo, Undersecretary of Public Works, and Miguel Concha, Mayor of Peñalolén, expressed their support for the initiative and the importance of public-private collaboration to provide high-standard services and improve the quality of life in neighborhoods.

The station offers a 24/7 service ecosystem, including a Pronto store with a restaurant and Sbarro pizzas, public restrooms, an ATM, Voltex charging points for electric vehicles, tire air machines, a car wash tunnel, and parking for cyclists. Regarding fuels, it offers 93, 95, and 97 octane gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.

With this inauguration, Copec reinforces its service station network, the most extensive in Chile, serving more than one million people daily and reaffirming its purpose of enhancing the movement of people, businesses, and the country. The station is now open to the public and will operate continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
