Three Rural Violence Incidents Reported During Early Morning in Cañete

According to the provincial presidential delegate of Arauco, Humberto Toro, there were at least three incidents allegedly perpetrated by the same group of unidentified individuals.

First, the authority stated, "in the Huape area, a bus was stopped by masked antisocial individuals who forced the driver to exit before setting the vehicle on fire."

He also added that "the same group, apparently, attempted to burn a Catholic church in the Tranguilboro area, and later set fire to a second home along the P72s route."

Of course, the authority was quick to condemn the incidents and warn that "there will be strong criminal prosecution," in an area that remains under a State of Exception.

"This is an issue we clearly and emphatically denounce. We have managed to reduce such events in the province of Arauco. And as we work to combat these illegal acts, we will meet with the police to intensify deeper efforts, in order to prevent situations like these from happening," he concluded.
