"We know who they are and where they are": Deputy claims Government has list of perpetrators of attacks

Deputy Miguel Becker (RN) stated that the Government is aware of the list of those responsible for the arson attacks recorded in the La Araucanía region. Moreover, he asserted that "we know who they are and where they are."

In this context, opposition lawmakers urged the Ministry of the Interior to take action amid the surge in attacks, just days before the one-year anniversary of the State of Emergency in effect in part of the Southern Macrozone.

Deputy Miguel Becker claimed that authorities have the complete list of the perpetrators of the attacks, demanding greater powers for the military forces.

"We know who they are, we know where they are. The government must make the decision and grant Carabineros and the Army the authority to arrest them and bring them to justice. And if there is an armed attack, respond accordingly to the armed attack. There are lists of people who have been acting as terrorists within the region, and in that sense, the government itself has these lists," he denounced.

His party colleague, Deputy Miguel Mellado, called on the Government and President Gabriel Boric to act firmly regarding the information they possess about the perpetrators of the attacks.

Meanwhile, Amarillos deputy and former Governor of La Araucanía, Andrés Jouannet, strongly criticized the Minister of the Interior and President Gabriel Boric. "This government is a commentator; it needs to take action," he accused.

These statements come after a series of arson attacks and just days before the one-year mark of the State of Emergency maintained by the Government in the Southern Macrozone.
