New arson attack in La Araucanía: unknown assailants arrived shooting at farm and burned machinery

A new arson attack in La Araucanía was reported in the early hours of Thursday, April 4, affecting an excavator near the town of Icalma, with access to Melipeuco.

A group of individuals allegedly arrived shooting at the La Querencia farm, located at kilometer 94 of the route between Melipeuco and Icalma, a mountainous area of the region, before setting fire to a piece of machinery.

Workers at the site claimed to have heard gunshots during the incident, after which they noticed a machine was on fire.

The incident was reported to Carabineros (Chilean police) and Firefighters, who responded to the area.
