Workers linked to the forestry sector staged a protest this Monday morning on the P60R route in the Huinllinco area. The demonstration, which included barricades, is in response to constant procedures and inspections related to timber theft.

This incident occurred at the northern entrance of Cañete, in theBío Bío region, on the route connecting the town with Los Álamos.

There, a group of workers tied to the forestry sector, primarily drivers, blocked the road with barricades.

According to Radio Bío Bío, the protesters are individuals who have faced ongoing procedures by Carabineros (Chilean police) for the crime of timber theft.

In this context, yesterday at noon, timber and a self-loading truck—allegedly linked to timber theft at the El Ciprés estate—were seized.

Due to the protest, traffic was blocked, forcing drivers to seek alternate routes between the municipalities of Cañete and Los Álamos.
