Arson Attack in La Araucanía: Suspects Burned Two Trucks and Attacked Police Officers in Collipulli
This Thursday afternoon, a group of unknown individuals carried out a new arson attack in the commune of Collipulli, La Araucanía Region. Although the exact details of the events have not yet been established, the attack resulted in two trucks being burned.
Additionally, the assailants attacked Carabineros (police) personnel. At this time, it is unknown whether firearms were involved in the aggression. However, no injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
No banners were found at the scene of the incident.
Colonel Patricio Martínez, Prefect of Malleco, stated that "today, two incidents occurred, specifically on Route R-49, which connects the communes of Coyipulli with the El Amargo sector."
He explained that around 2:00 PM, "unknown individuals, with their faces covered and armed with firearms, at kilometer 23, forced the occupants of a truck belonging to the Illustrious Municipality of Coyipulli to exit the vehicle, leaving them abandoned at the scene."
After that, they moved to kilometer 18 of the same route and blocked the path of two truck drivers, forcing them to exit their vehicles.
They then burned both vehicles using an accelerant liquid. The truck was found in flames. Specialized Carabineros teams took charge of the investigative procedures.
