  • Masked assailants armed with weapons set fire to vehicles and machinery in a day of violence that has shaken the La Araucanía region.

A violent arson attack occurred this morning on the route connecting Loncoche and Gorbea, leaving several vehicles and forestry machinery destroyed by flames. The incident took place in the Vivero Patricia sector, within an estate located along Route S92.

Witnesses at the scene reported that approximately six masked and armed individuals stormed the forestry operation, forcing workers to halt their activities. Shortly after, the attackers doused six pieces of machinery and three pickup trucks with accelerant fluid and set them ablaze before fleeing in an undetermined direction.

Public Order Control personnel from Carabineros and firefighters quickly responded to the call, arriving at the site to combat the fire and secure the area. Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries were reported among the workers.

So far, no messages or banners have been found that could attribute the attack to any particular group. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation, involving Labocar and Carabineros' OS9, to clarify the facts and identify those responsible.

The Public Ministry has taken action, deploying an operation that includes ground and air searches, with the help of an institutional helicopter, to locate the attackers.

This attack adds to a series of similar incidents that have affected the forestry industry in the La Araucanía region, an area that has witnessed conflicts related to territorial claims and demands from indigenous communities.

The situation has created an atmosphere of tension and concern among residents and workers in the region, who hope authorities can restore security and bring those responsible for these violent acts to justice.
