5 Mapuche community members arrested for alleged involvement in two arson attacks in Los Sauces in 2021

Early this Thursday morning, the PDI (Investigative Police) arrested five Mapuche community members for their alleged participation in two arson attacks carried out in 2021 on properties in the commune of Los Sauces, in the La Araucanía region.

It should be noted that four of them were arrested in Victoria and another in Pitrufquén.

In this context, the individuals were taken to a medical facility to assess their health condition.

Subsequently, they will appear via telematics before the Guarantee Court of Purén.

It should be clarified that the Investigative Police conducted simultaneous operations in at least two communes of La Araucanía to achieve the arrest of these five Mapuche community members.
