The Association of Forestry Contractors A.G. (Acoforag) extends its condolences to Carabineros de Chile and the families of the officers, First Corporal Sergio Arévalo Lobos and Misael Vidal Cid, and First Sergeant Carlos Cisterna Navarro, all members of the Fourth Police Station for Control and Public Order in Los Álamos, who were brutally murdered in Cañete on the very day the police institution commemorates its 97th anniversary since its founding.
As a guild, we continue to observe with dismay and concern how the institutions of our country are continuously undermined by armed groups, leading to officers losing their lives while fulfilling their duty to protect the nation.
As a guild, we have persistently insisted on the enforcement of the Rule of Law in Chile, and with today's events, this becomes imperative.
We call on the authorities to take stronger action on national security, which we see is in greater danger every day.
