  • An armed group destroys trucks and machinery in a forestry estate, leaving a trail of destruction and fear in the Los Lagos region.

In a violent arson attack recorded this Monday at a forestry estate in the Riachuelos sector of Río Negro, Los Lagos region, a group of at least ten armed individuals with their faces covered destroyed numerous trucks and machinery. The attackers, equipped with long weapons and bulletproof vests, intimidated the workers present before proceeding to set the place on fire.

Preliminary reports indicate that between six and eight trucks were consumed by flames, along with various machinery used in forestry operations. The incident has prompted an intense response from authorities, who have deployed a large-scale control operation on nearby roads, including routes connecting to the commune of San Juan de la Costa, north of the attack site.

The incident has caused alarm in the local community and put security forces on high alert, as they investigate the event and search for those responsible. So far, no injuries have been reported among the estate workers, but the total loss of the affected equipment and vehicles has been confirmed.

This attack adds to a series of similar incidents that have affected the forestry industry in the region, leading to calls for enhanced security measures and solutions to prevent future acts of violence that endanger the lives and assets of workers and companies in the sector.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with any information that could lead to the capture of those involved in this criminal act and have reiterated their commitment to security and justice in the region.
