  • Undersecretary of the Interior and Sercotec sign agreement to strengthen the Support Program for Victims of Rural Violence, allocating more resources to affected SMEs.

From the Presidential Delegation of La Araucanía, a key announcement was made for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have suffered the impact of rural violence in Chile's Southern Macrozone. Undersecretary of the Interior Manuel Monsalve and Sercotec's General Manager María José Becerra confirmed a significant increase in funds aimed at supporting the recovery of these businesses' productive activities.

The budget increase reaches $4.268 billion, a figure intended to address the needs of 666 individuals already assisted, with an investment exceeding $20.408 billion. This joint effort between the Undersecretary of the Interior and Sercotec is formalized through the signing of an agreement that expands the scope of the Support Program for Victims of Rural Violence.

According to program statistics, 75% of the victims served are microenterprises, 22% are small businesses, and 3% are medium-sized enterprises. Most beneficiaries are concentrated in the Araucanía Region (70%) and the Biobío Region (25%), with additional coverage in the Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regions.

Undersecretary Monsalve emphasized the importance of this agreement, highlighting that the government's security strategy not only focuses on criminal prosecution and strengthening law enforcement but also on repairing harm to victims. Meanwhile, María José Becerra Moro of Sercotec announced that the program will be extended this year to include unregistered businesses, aiming to support their reactivation and formalization, thereby enabling them to access the productive development network and other state support programs.

The program, set to launch in the second half of the year, targets individuals or legal entities, first and second category taxpayers, whose activities have been affected by acts of rural violence.
