Police Officer Shot in Ambush in La Araucanía

During the morning of this Wednesday, a police officer was injured in an ambush alongside other law enforcement officials in the commune of Victoria, La Araucanía region.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. when Carabineros personnel were attempting to reach a location following a fire call.

However, during their journey, they were ambushed and shot at. As a result, a police officer sustained shotgun and pellet wounds to one of her legs.

The officers managed to repel the attack after requesting backup from specialized personnel who arrived with armored vehicles to secure their retreat. Meanwhile, the injured officer was transported to Victoria Hospital, where she is currently hospitalized.
