A house was destroyed following an arson attack this Monday in Lumaco, La Araucanía region, carried out by hooded individuals.

According to information from Radio Bío Bío, the incident took place about 400 meters from the urban area of the aforementioned commune.

At the scene, based on details obtained by La Radio, at least three hooded individuals held a family at gunpoint.

This occurred while they burned the property located approximately 500 meters from where the military base of the State of Exception is situated in Lumaco.

The attack even took place after Mayor Richard Leonelli traveled to Santiago for a meeting—with all the country's mayors—called by the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, scheduled for this Tuesday at La Moneda.

Meanwhile, the Public Ministry has ordered a series of procedures to clarify the attack that occurred this Monday in Lumaco.

According to Emol, the Head of the Carabineros Araucanía Zone, General Patricio Yáñez, specified that the incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. in the Las Viñas sector.

He further detailed that "individuals armed with short and long firearms allegedly threatened the occupants of a property" before burning it down.

The Public Ministry has already intervened, initiating procedures to identify those responsible for the incident.
