Three men were arrested for their alleged participation in the theft of timber from the Santa Rosalía estate, located in the Covadonga area, in the commune of Panguipulli, Los Ríos Region.

The operation began after Carabineros from the Fifth Precinct received an alert about the presence of a pickup truck and a truck inside the forest property.

Upon arriving at the scene, police personnel found a pickup truck loaded with eucalyptus timber and arrested its two occupants. Subsequently, after receiving information about the location of the second vehicle, another police team managed to locate the truck on an agricultural property in the Curilelfu area, where its driver was arrested.

The accused are three men aged 56, 37, and 39, all with criminal records, though without pending judicial orders. In total, approximately 10 meters of eucalyptus timber were recovered, whose value was preliminarily estimated at more than $500,000.

The case background was referred to the Prosecutor's Office, which ordered the detention control hearing for the three individuals involved.
