A new act of violence occurred this Thursday morning in the La Araucanía region, where hooded and armed individuals burned two trucks belonging to a contractor company that provides services to the forestry company Comaco in Victoria.

This arson attack took place at the San Gregorio estate, at kilometer 21 on the road to the Talhuaca Hot Springs, and affected the company Comercial Foreal Alveal SPA.

The company's legal representative, Daniel Alveal, spoke with Radio Bío Bío and recounted that they are providing forestry services to Comaco in harvesting and transportation.

It was during these tasks, around 6 in the morning, that hooded individuals carrying firearms intercepted them.

"One driver told me they were carrying weapons, but they couldn't exactly identify how many. They forced him to get out of the vehicle and then proceeded to burn the trucks," he stated.

Both drivers are giving statements at the Fourth Police Station of Victoria.

"For us, this is regrettable because we are a new company; we are just about to complete approximately 2 years providing service to Comaco. We have been working with communities here," Alveal said.

"We are also Mapuche people working in this field, and these are low-income truck drivers; there is no huge company here providing service to an external company, we are people who go out to work every day and want to return home with sustenance and bread for the house," he emphasized.

So far, no arrests have been reported for this incident. The Prosecutor's Office instructed the OS9 and Labocar of Carabineros to carry out the investigations.
