Yassna Navarrete was one of the people affected by the arson attack reported at a company in Collipulli, in the La Araucanía region.

The victim, in a conversation with Radio Bío Bío, criticized the State and the Government in general because, in her words, "they have said little or nothing regarding La Araucanía," an aspect she said left her disillusioned.

"We are one of the few sources of employment in Collipulli, because no one wants to invest here. We are here because we have been from here our whole lives. But the truth is we are so exhausted, so tired, and so disillusioned with the Government that has said little or nothing regarding La Araucanía, and we were one of the slogans of this campaign they had," she stated.

"The truth is I feel deeply disillusioned, affected, and hoping they reverse this situation. Okay, processes are slow when they reach the Government, but it seems they are doing little or nothing," she added.

"We are the ones who pay the price for the lack of foresight regarding these types of situations. We are less than 1 km from the city. We have been a company that since 1997 suffers attacks year after year, so much so that in 2020, for example, we suffered the burning of 17 pieces of work equipment in three months," Yassna continued.

The worker also brought up the mega-operation carried out by Carabineros - with military support - in the Temucuicui community in Ercilla, which resulted in five people being detained.

In that regard, she stated that when facing situations "of this type, these acts of violence against such powerful people in matters of reclamation, you know that when you carry out these types of actions, you will face consequences."

"Foreseeing everything, let's say, the threats made by these leaders of Temucuicui, they were not capable of assigning us a Carabineros patrol or assisting us or even doing rounds," she questioned.

In Navarrete's opinion, the consequences in these cases are not paid by the authorities, but by "the common, ordinary people who are still trying to survive in La Araucanía."

"We are making a call that, please, protect us, that campaign promises be fulfilled, and that they do not forget the victims once they have reached the Government," she concluded.
