The subsidiary Forestal Arauco S.A. finalized the sale of the standing eucalyptus forests corresponding to 561 forest properties located in Valdivia, in the Los Ríos region.
This, in a transaction valued at US$216,565,113, plus the corresponding VAT.
According to the information provided by the company, the purchase agreement was signed with a Chilean company controlled by a local forest investment fund, whose contributors are institutional investors.
The assets involved include eucalyptus forests planted on an approximate area of 29,458 hectares.
The company specified that the transaction only considers the sale of the standing forests, so it does not include the land where they are established.
Consequently, Arauco will retain ownership of the forest properties.
Finally, regarding payment, the agreement establishes a total price of US$216,565,113 plus VAT, an amount that must be paid within a maximum period of 45 calendar days.
