The Los Lagos Region will have 334 new monthly temporary employment slots aimed at forest fire prevention and mitigation work during the months of October, November, and December.
The initiative is part of a national program that includes 6,958 additional monthly positions, which will be added to the 2,522 slots of the regular program, reaching a total of 9,480 jobs during the period of greatest preparation against forest fires.
The work will be concentrated mainly in urban-rural interface areas, where there is greater proximity between vegetation, homes, and infrastructure.
Among the tasks considered are the construction and maintenance of firebreaks, land clearing, clearing and management of vegetation, with the aim of reducing the conditions that can favor the start and spread of fires.
The additional slots will be distributed among the Atacama and Los Lagos regions, with 334 monthly jobs corresponding to the latter region.
How to apply
Interested individuals must register at the Municipal Labor Information Office (OMIL) of their commune.
To access these jobs, applicants must be over 18 years of age and unemployed. Subsequently, the OMILs will contact those who meet the requirements to continue with the selection process.
Those who are already registered with the corresponding OMIL will not need to complete a new procedure.
