Komatsu Chile introduced the new 895.3 forwarder model, manufactured in Sweden, which arrives in the country with significant improvements in power, load capacity, and safety, establishing itself as a high-standard solution for demanding forestry operations.

With an operating weight of 23,600 kilograms and a net power of 286 hp at 1850 rpm, the 895.3 forwarder incorporates a stronger 205F crane and a higher-capacity grapple (0.55 m²), allowing it to handle more wood volume per cycle. Additionally, the included GX rotor can handle up to 80% more weight, optimizing loading and unloading times in the field.

Cristian Menke, Sales Sub-Manager of the Forestry Area at Komatsu Chile, highlighted that "this new model directly responds to the needs of the Chilean forestry sector, which requires machinery that combines operational efficiency with high standards of safety and operator comfort."

Integrated Safety

Among its innovations, the 895.3 features a more robust rear frame and a thicker structure, improving durability in extreme conditions. The load area extends up to 7.2 meters in length, allowing for greater volume transport per trip. This is complemented by an automatic lubrication system and a factory-installed fire suppression system, which enhance safety and preventive maintenance.

The cabin, certified under ROPS, FOPS, and OPS standards, has been redesigned to offer greater operator comfort, with improved visibility, ergonomics, and acoustic insulation, key elements for long shifts in the field.

"Komatsu continues to bet on innovation and the development of forestry machinery that adapts to local challenges. The 895.3 forwarder is a clear example of that commitment," added Menke.

With this addition, Komatsu Chile strengthens its portfolio of forestry solutions, aiming to improve the productivity and sustainability of operations in the country.
