The regional prosecutor (acting) of Ñuble, Sergio Pérez Nova, reported that he instructed the PDI (Investigative Police) to investigate the forest fire in the El Manzano sector, in San Nicolás, which has left a 57-year-old woman seriously injured due to burns, and 15 houses destroyed by the fire. The victim remains hospitalized at the Herminda Martin Hospital in Chillán.

According to the Conaf (National Forestry Corporation) report, it is a fire that started yesterday and covers 160 hectares, mainly grasslands.

In the Ñuble Region, which has been under a Yellow Alert since yesterday, another forest fire that started on Tuesday in the Perales Biobío sector, in Ránquil, is added. It has affected 1,665 hectares and four homes. The chief prosecutor of Quirihue, Paulina Valdebenito Sanders, instructed the Carabineros Criminalistics Laboratory (Labocar) to carry out procedures.

Also in the firefighting phase is the fire that has been affecting, since last Sunday, the Ñuble Reserve in Pinto, where the Conaf report indicates the impact on 36.2 hectares. The investigation of this fire is under the responsibility of the Environmental Crimes Investigation Brigade (Bidema) of the PDI.
