The Association of Forestry Contractors A.G. (Acoforag) warned that, despite the number of attacks against the sector remaining practically stable during 2025, the economic impact and severity of the incidents deepen the sense of insecurity in the Southern Macrozone.
According to the Summary of terrorist attacks on forestry contractors 2025 and comparison with 2024, last year 27 attacks were recorded, 4% more than in 2024. The La Araucanía Region concentrated the highest number of incidents, with 21 attacks, while Biobío doubled its records, going from 2 to 4 attacks. Collipulli positioned itself as the most affected municipality, concentrating 26% of the year's attacks.
From Acoforag, its manager, René Muñoz, emphasized that the guild's concern is not limited to the number of incidents, but to their consequences. During 2025, 74 pieces of equipment and machinery were destroyed, resulting in losses of $9.040 billion, a figure lower than in 2025, when it reached $13.300 billion.
"The underlying problem remains the lack of real guarantees for workers to be able to perform their duties safely," Acoforag has stated on various occasions, underscoring that the violence continues to affect not only company operations but also job stability and the integrity of thousands of sector workers.
The report also notes that approximately 2,600 workers were directly affected by acts of violence in 2025, reflecting that, although there was a slight decrease compared to the previous year, the risk remains high.
From the guild, they stress that these figures confirm that forestry activity continues to be a priority target for attacks in the south of the country, and they call on the State to adopt more effective and sustained measures to safeguard the security, employment, and productive continuity of an industry key to regional economies.
