The Campus Nacimiento CMPC-Duoc UC held its second graduation ceremony, with 95 students who completed their training in eight technical-professional programs. With this new generation, the institution reached 221 graduates since the start of its activities in 2023, consolidating an initiative aimed at expanding access to higher education in the provinces of Biobío and Malleco.

The ceremony included four instances to recognize the graduates of Dual Training, Health, IT, Administration, and the evening Engineering programs. Among the programs with the most graduates, Nursing Technician stood out with 19 graduates; Dual Electricity and Industrial Automation Technician, with 16; and Logistics Management Technician, also with 16.

One of the campus's main hallmarks is Dual Training, which combines the content taught in classrooms with practical experiences in CMPC's operations. This modality is applied in the Electricity and Industrial Automation Technician and Industrial Maintenance Technician programs, with the support of company tutors to strengthen technical skills and facilitate labor market insertion.

The results of this initiative are already reflected in the trajectory of its first graduates. In 2025, CMPC reported that 20 of the 29 young people who began their training under this modality had joined the workforce at various company facilities, including the Santa Fe, Pacífico, and Laja plants, as well as the Nacimiento and Plywood sawmills.

Among the new graduates is Fabián Mella Lavín, 21 years old, who completed the Dual Industrial Maintenance Technician program and joined CMPC directly at the end of August. His experience, as he recounted, demonstrates how the combination of academic training and learning in industrial environments can open concrete opportunities for professional development.

Augusto Robert, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at CMPC, highlighted that the alliance allows bringing job opportunities closer to young people in the territory, while Pablo Briones, campus director, valued the impact of graduation on both students and their families and communities.

Inaugurated in 2023 alongside CMPC's Santa Fe plant, the campus has more than 3,500 square meters of infrastructure, including technology laboratories, a library, and sports spaces. The project seeks to decentralize higher education and facilitate access to technical-professional programs for residents of communes such as Nacimiento, Laja, Los Ángeles, Angol, Renaico, and Collipulli, among other localities in the provinces of Biobío and Malleco.
