The maintenance of forestry trucks is essential work to guarantee the continuity and safety of the sector's operations. Behind this task is Josué Ramírez, a worker from southern Chile who has found in mechanics a way to contribute to the development of forestry activity.
From his workshop in La Araucanía, Ramírez carries out maintenance work that keeps the vehicles responsible for transporting wood from the worksites to the collection centers and industries operational. His work requires technical knowledge, responsibility, and constant attention to the condition of the equipment.
His story was highlighted by the Association of Forestry Contractors (Acoforag), as part of an initiative aimed at giving visibility to the workers who, from different roles, contribute to the functioning of the forestry production chain.
"We connect the forest with the communities," says Ramírez in an audiovisual recording disseminated by the trade organization, where he also expresses his identification with life in the countryside and the environment in which he carries out his activity.
Beyond mechanical work, his experience reflects the link between work, the territory, and the people who are part of the forestry sector. An activity that depends not only on operations in the field, but also on those who keep the equipment and vehicles necessary for its development in proper condition.
Through these stories, Acoforag seeks to recognize the contribution of workers who often remain outside public attention, but whose dedication is indispensable for the functioning of the forestry industry and its connection with the communities of southern Chile.
