Promoting anonymous reports and strengthening forest fire prevention were the main objectives of an informational session held in downtown Ránquil, Ñuble Region, led by the Regional Minister of Public Security, Héctor Ponce Ortega, together with Carabineros, the Investigative Police (PDI), the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf), and municipal inspectors.

One of the focuses of the deployment was the promotion of the Denuncia Seguro *4242 program, a tool that allows people to provide information about criminal acts anonymously and confidentially. The initiative seeks to encourage citizen collaboration and facilitate information that can contribute to investigations by the competent institutions.

During the activity, the teams provided information to drivers and pedestrians about how this channel works, as well as recommendations to avoid behaviors that can cause forest fires and put people, their homes, and the natural environment at risk.

Regional Minister Héctor Ponce emphasized that security requires both coordination among institutions and community participation, through preventive actions and the provision of relevant information.

The session also helped reinforce Conaf's call to maintain responsible behavior regarding the risk of forest fires, especially in the face of actions that can cause emergencies and affect ecosystems and communities.

With this deployment, the institutions seek to bring reporting tools closer to citizens and strengthen prevention in the regional territory, promoting anonymous collaboration as a way to provide information about crimes.
