This afternoon, a raid was carried out on the Temucuicui community after a shooting attack on two Carabineros units in Ercilla, La Araucanía region, was recorded earlier this same day.

Police personnel entered the community located in the rural area of Ercilla in large numbers. So far, according to information from BiobioChile, there are no detainees.

However, the truck in which the individuals who fired the shots at the Carabineros facilities were traveling was recovered, along with certain weapons.

Specifically, a UZI submachine gun, a 9 mm pistol, and ammunition were recovered. This afternoon, the procedure is still ongoing.

The attack on the two Carabineros facilities occurred specifically in the early hours of this Wednesday. According to Radio Bío Bío, one of the incidents affected the station of the Sixth Police Station of the aforementioned commune.

Unknown individuals arrived at that point in a vehicle, who fired shots at the police unit while the vehicle was moving. Due to the attack, the police station in question suffered various damages. No injuries were reported.

In the second incident, personnel from the Public Order Control Zone (COP) who were guarding the San Ramón sector reported the actions of unknown individuals who, shielded by the darkness of the area, fired at the police personnel stationed there, who are carrying out a protection measure.

The individuals also fired the shots from a moving vehicle. Afterwards, they fled, with no damages or injuries reported.
