In light of the regrettable terrorist attack that occurred yesterday, October 13, in the commune of Angol —the 532nd recorded since January 2014—, the Association of Forest Contractors A.G. declares the following:

.Thirty years have now passed since the beginning of this endless cycle of violence. However, destruction and insecurity continue to advance in the southern macrozone, despite the current Government's campaign promises.

.A few weeks ago, we observed with concern the videos published on social media by the current Minister of Security, Martín Arrau, in which the recovery of forestry activity was announced on properties located in the so-called red zone.

.Precisely on that same property, yesterday there was an attack against formal work, production equipment was destroyed, and the life projects of forestry entrepreneurs were affected.

.Throughout all these years, forestry contractors and their workers have faced, alone and without support, these permanent and endless acts of violence, remaining firm despite their serious consequences.

.However, everything has a limit. Therefore, we call on the Government to open a space for dialogue with forestry contractors, a guild that has directly endured the effects of terrorist violence in the southern macrozone for the sole reason of exercising its legitimate right to work.
