Arson attack destroys cargo truck and affects forestry machinery in Collipulli

A new arson attack was recorded during the early hours of this Monday in the urban sector of Collipulli, Malleco province, La Araucanía Region.

The incident left a heavy cargo truck completely destroyed by fire and a forestry cargo car affected.

The incident occurred around 05:00 hours on Caupolicán street, where unknown individuals allegedly arrived at the location and used accelerant liquid to start the fire. A banner with messages alluding to the attack was also found at the site.

Carabineros personnel arrived at the scene around 05:10 hours, confirming the damage to the machinery. Lieutenant Colonel Raúl Quintanilla, of the Malleco Prefecture, confirmed that it was a truck destroyed as a result of a fire caused by third parties.

By instruction of the Public Ministry, the investigation was left in charge of specialized teams from OS9 and Labocar of Carabineros, who are carrying out expert examinations to establish the dynamics of the attack and gather evidence to identify those responsible.

In addition, work is being done on reviewing security cameras in the sector. So far, no detained or injured persons have been reported, while police proceedings continue to clarify what happened.
