An operation carried out by specialized units of the Investigative Police (PDI) led to the arrest in Carahue, La Araucanía Region, of Rosamel Fierro Huenuman, who had been wanted since 2021 for his alleged involvement in a violent assault against two forestry workers.
The capture was carried out by detectives from the Special Fugitive Group, in coordination with the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) Temuco, following intelligence and surveillance work that made it possible to establish the whereabouts of the wanted individual.
Fierro Huenuman had an active arrest warrant since 2021, related to a crime of robbery with intimidation committed at the Aguas Blancas forestry estate, located in the commune of Carahue.
According to the case records, the incident affected two forestry workers who were inside the estate. After the crime, the defendant remained beyond the reach of justice for several years.
The investigation carried out by the PDI's specialized teams finally made it possible to locate him in the same commune where the judicial case originated, leading to his arrest.
